With all the of the popular food trends going around you've probably heard about coconut oil being a "super food". But is this actually true? While it does have some health benefits, it is high saturated fat and should be treated like any other fat....USED IN MODERATION. Treat it as if it were butter! If you decide to use coconut oil, make sure you are using the recommended serving size that's found on the nutrition label.
There are other oils out there such as olive oil and flaxseed oil you may want to consider trying that have healthy benefits and cost nearly the same as coconut oil.
